Q: Should I buy a Mod Chip or a Game Enhancer?
A: That's entirely up to you! They both have their advantages.
A Mod Chip is totally transparent - just put in a backup or an import into your unit, and it loads. However, installing a Mod Chip requires soldering the chip inside your PlayStation, which voids your warranty.
To boot backups with a Game Enhancer, you must put an original CD in the unit (any CD will do, even the demo CD), press a button, wait for the CD to stop spinning and then put in the backup.
